Amethyst is a semi-precious stone used since the antiquity.
It is a translucent purple quartz
It comes mainly from Brazil and Uruguay but there are smaller deposits in the world (in Belgium and France in particular).
CAUTION: the amethyst contains traces of iron (which gives it its color) and supports little water. Stains can appear if it is exposed too much to the water
This stone would be soothing, bring the balance in itself. It would be a stone of serenity.
